PIB's fact check found both claims to be false. On examination of the facts it is clear that SBI has not changed its transaction rules. SBI allows its customers 5 free transactions per month from its bank's ATMs, while 3 free transactions are available from ATMs of other banks. Any transaction thereafter will incur a charge of Rs.21.
Bank withdrawal exemption
State Bank of India allows its customers to withdraw cash from one branch to another branch based on a specified amount. According to the information given on the SBI website, you can easily withdraw Rs.25 thousand. The limit is then fixed based on the amount received from the bank.
